STATEMENT

SOLVE et COAGULA.

The process of transforming my found material is part of my way of living. I am using the genius loci of castles, churches, old houses and abandoned buildings, where I work and live a spartan life. In this isolated environment, in this incubator, I can create works which at the same time are a riddle for the viewer on the left hand and the answer of something occult up to that point for me on the right hand.

“For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.” (Luke 8:17)

Thomas Gegner was born on Easter Sunday in 1978 in Vienna, Austria. He currently lives and works in Attersee, Austria. He is an artorcist, daimonograph, and antiquarian bookseller.
