STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Most of my collage pieces start with one of my photographs, and then I embellish it with vintage papers and images from old books and magazines. I then finish the collage pieces with the addition of acrylic media and paint. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have a lifetime of my own images (mostly on black and white film): literally thousands and thousands from most of America and the five continents I\u2019ve visited with my camera. Also, I am a collector of vintage Life<\/em> magazines and various women’s magazines. I have always been interested in the evolution of women’s role in society and environmental issues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Victoria Blewer has spend 4 decades as a photographer creating handcolored photographs. Her work has been displayed in home, galleries and museums through New England. When darkroom supplies started to dwindle and the special paper to hand-color on was completely discontinued, she started to direct her creative energy toward collage and her art work evolved beautifully in this new medium. Most of Blewer’s
collage pieces start with one of her photographs, and then she embellished the piece with vintage papers and images from old books and magazines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She lives in Middlebury, Vermont.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
