STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

My work is an experiment. It starts with a hypothesis, or an idea, that I test and modify as I cut and arrange the pieces, changing course midway if needed, and ultimately settling on a unique, and often unexpected, composition. My materials of choice are images resurrected from old magazines, paper from old comic books, forgotten family photos, and vintage postcards. My methods are old-fashioned: cut and paste, paint, and draw. The most important part of my work is the experiment, not necessarily the results.<\/p>\n

BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n

Felicia Dadak began making collages in 2007 on the backs of playing cards using bits of old paper and glue. A self-taught artist, her work has grown over the years both in size and in style. With images rescued from vintage books and magazines, each collage tells a unique and carefully constructed story. In her work, Felicia explores themes of love, loss, and memory, all with a deep appreciation for the past. Felicia grew up in Western Massachusetts and now lives with her husband and two dogs in Truckee, California.<\/p>\n
