STATEMENT<\/strong><\/p>\n

I grew up in the 1960s and 1970s with dreams of exploring far walks of life. My bible was National Geographic<\/em>. It contained all of my interests; travel, photography, adventure and science. My work is about capturing nostalgia in a contemporary way. I construct whimsical surreal compositions into complex visual stories, exploring relationships in the world. The work embodies the attitude that anything is possible.<\/p>\n

I am motivated by the pursuit of the hunt for the images both in print and through the viewfinder. The process of hand cutting and then layering pieces into exaggerated forms is simultaneously meditative and stimulating. I combine vintage images from magazines, books and maps with my personal photographs through collage. The matte texture and colors from these aged materials juxtapose with the glossy modern photos. All of these images are from the original source; I don\u2019t photocopy, scan or use photo shop. Each piece is one of a kind.<\/p>\n

BIO<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am a hand cut collage artist living and working in New York City. I use vintage imagery as well as personal photographs to create original analog collages. Since 2015, I have taken mixed media collage classes at the 92nd Street Y in New York. I have had solo shows in New York City and Washington, Connecticut and participated in numerous group shows in New York, Connecticut, New Jersey, as well as Canada, Scotland and Norway. I am a member of the Instagram group @thecollageclub<\/a> and host of @the_collage_garden<\/a> in New York City 2018.<\/p>\n
