Chicago Collage Community
 Chicago Collage CommunityChicagoland, Illinois, USA HISTORYArtists Charlea Taylor and Christine Vilutis founded Chicago Collage Community (C3) in November 2022 after meeting to collage and chat at a local coffee shop. Their conversation about strengthening networks for local artists led to in-person meetups, exhibitions, and projects supporting artists working in collage and assemblage. C3’s steering committee comprises local artists Christine Vilutis, Charlea Taylor, Miranda Livingston, and Lo Marie. MISSIONC3 connects and uplifts the diverse community of collage artists in the greater Chicagoland area. The group seeks to create an inclusive, nurturing, and safe space while ensuring that Chicago artists contribute to ongoing conversations about collage around the world.   JOINLocal artists are welcome to participate in C3’s meetups and events. Follow the group’s social media for open calls and upcoming activities. Copies of Chicago Collage Magazine are available through the link on the group’s website or in its Instagram bio. Ideas for future collaborations and projects are welcome by email or social media. KEY ACTIVITIESC3 organizes artist gatherings, exhibitions, and collaborative projects. Past activities include a collage workshop led by community artist the Citizen Raja at The Other Art Fair Chicago in spring 2023 and the Community Through Collage II exhibition at Chicago Billiard Cafe in spring 2026. Chicago Collage Magazine is an independent publication introducing local collage and assemblage artists to a wider art audience. Volume 3 is planned for spring 2027. C3 is also preparing to launch the Chicago Collage Directory in early 2027, a free online resource connecting the region’s collage and assemblage artists with people interested in their work.
