Cory W. Peeke interviews Woodstock, New York collagist Robert Ohnigian
When he came across an image of one of Robert Ohnigian’s collages, Cory W. Peeke was quite taken with the delicacy and unique tactile and formal sensitivity of the piece. Peeke said, “Ohnigian’s work has an ephemeral feel to it, much like a vintage, faded watercolour and they often reference landscape and portraiture. The works have a great sense of history about them and yet they are so modestly composed as to almost be akin to the minimalist grids of Agnes Martin.” Ohnigian’s sensitivity to materials and spare compositions intrigued Peeke enough to contact him to see if he would agree to an interview.
The interview appears in Kolaj #14.
