Connections: A Virtual, Online Juried Show

Online at Collage Artists of America
1 November-31 December 2023

Deadline: Sunday, 1 October 2023 at 11:59PM PDT

Collage Artists of America (CAA) is accepting submissions for “Connections”, a virtual, online juried show, taking place in November and December 2023. CAA writes:

Connections are everywhere: people, emotional, spatial, graphic, spiritual, electrical, travel. Creativity is in the putting together of what you already know in a way that creates something different by the combination of any type of elements. Ideas may start with one seed that grows as you connect and transform them into unique images to reveal your artistic vision and truth. Subject matter is open for you to develop in your own style: mixed media, analog, digital, assemblage, narrative or abstract. Make your connections and let your mind run free!

The Juror of Selection and Awards is Kristine Schomaker (she/her) who is an artist, art historian, curator, publisher, and mentor living and working in Los Angeles, California. She earned her BA in Art History and MA in Studio Art from California State University at Northridge. In 2014, Kristine founded Shoebox Arts aimed at helping artists gain a presence in the art world.

Kristine has started critique meet-ups, runs an alternative art space and is an art activator for the organization Artists Thrive. She is also the publisher of Art and Cake, a contemporary Los Angeles-based art magazine and has curated numerous art exhibitions throughout Southern California. Her mission is to create community among artists and the art world in order to help each other thrive. Exhibiting her work since the late 1990s, Kristine has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions. Learn more about her work HERE.

There are cash awards totaling $1100. These awards will be given to artists in first ($500), second ($300), and third ($200). One artist will receive the Carolann Watterson Award ($100) and there will be four Honorary Mentions.
