Collagistas Festival No. 5: “Big Village Small World”
at Temple Bar Gallery and Studios in Dublin, Ireland

The Collagistas Festival brings together collage artists from all over the world to show their work and share ideas and thoughts about their practice. Collagistas Festival #5, themed “Big Village Small World”, features unique artworks created specifically for the exhibition, by some of the world’s leading collage practitioners. In addition, there will be workshops, discussions and presentations by fifty-three collage artists from twenty different countries including Argentina, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, Colombia, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Latvia, Netherlands, Peru, Poland, Portugal, Spain, U.K and U.S.A. Participating artists are travelling to Dublin for the festival.
The festival provides a platform to explore and discuss how collage is made and its role in contemporary visual culture. It also aims to engage the general public and the wider art community in these discussions. The Collagistas principal objectives are to maintain an international network of collage artists and to bring collage to a wider audience.
The inaugural Collagistas Festival took place in 2014 in Berlin. In 2015, it was held in Thessaloniki, Greece; in 2016, Eindhoven, The Netherlands; and, in 2017, Collagistas Festival ≠4 was in Milan.
Opening reception: Thursday, 13 September, 8-10PM.
