Collection of the artist. <\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>FROM KOLAJ #30<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Louisiana Contemporary 2020<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">at the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans, Louisiana, USA<br>5 September 2020-7 February 2021<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>For the 2020 edition of &#8220;Louisiana Contemporary&#8221;, guest juror Ren\u00e9 Morales, Director of Curatorial Affairs and Chief Curator at P\u00e9rez Art Museum Miami (PAMM), selected fifty-five works by fifty-six artists from a total of 1,388 works by 363 artists. <br><br>For the 2020 edition, Morales was attuned to artists and artworks that are actively engaging with this particular moment in American history, through different media and stylistic and technical approaches. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The 2020 winner of the prize for Best in Show is assemblage artist Wendo Brunoir, won for their works <em>Appropriation of a Masterpiece<\/em> and <em>Don\u2019t Catch You Slippin\u2019 Up<\/em> (image above). This follows David Knox&#8217;s 2018 Best in Show prize for his photomontage, <em>The Fall of Leviticus<\/em> (see our report in <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"http:\/\/kolajmagazine.com\/content\/content\/articles\/photomontage-wins-best-in-show-at-louisiana-contemporary\/\" target=\"_blank\"><em>Kolaj<\/em> #24<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In <a href=\"http:\/\/kolajmagazine.com\/content\/issues\/kolaj-30\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><em>Kolaj<\/em> #30<\/a>, Ric Kasini Kadour reviewed collage in &#8220;Louisiana Contemporary 2020&#8221; and wrote about how frequently collage is featured in each year&#8217;s &#8220;Louisiana Contemporary&#8221;. He wrote:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote\"><p>Since 2012, the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans has hosted an annual survey of art by Louisiana artists.
