From Asbury Park, New Jersey, USA, the artist found collage \u201cby happy accident\u201d. She said, \u201cI was working on a design project in Chicago, and creating a textured wall, using tissue paper, plaster and acrylic glazes. I ran out of tissue paper and went to a thrift store close by and picked up a load of old sewing patterns. I loved the patterns created by layering these, and began a series of large abstract works using the sewing patterns and other mediums.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong><em>A portfolio of Jill Ricci&#8217;s work appears in\u00a0<\/em>Kolaj<em>\u00a034.
