Courtesy of the artist.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>FROM KOLAJ 34<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Angela Piehl&#8217;s Artist Portfolio<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Embedded in Angela Piehl\u2019s collage is an analysis of popular media. \u201cMagazines continue to possess inherent, suggestive codifications for gender as well as seductive imagery of bourgeois lifestyle and behavior, but the presentation is more nuanced, digitally enhanced, and still residually troubling.\u201d Piehl explains, \u201cQueer Ecology as a field of study considers distinctions such as natural\/unnatural, as well as connections between material and cultural aspects of environmental issues. Piehl\u2019s work has been shown in solo, group and juried exhibitions across the U.S., as well as Canada and the United Kingdom. Her work is in numerous public and private collections, including the Los Angeles Center for Digital Art, the New Mexico State University Art Gallery, the Oklahoma State University Museum of Art, the Kala Art Institute, and the John Michael Kohler Art Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. The artist is represented by Walker Fine Art in Denver, Colorado.
