Jackie Leishman’s solo exhibition,”THE WAY IN\u201d, was curated by Ahmad Shariff. Leishman\u2019s pieces invite viewers into a space that is both seen and felt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The artist sees the world as a collage, a complex layering of experiences and perspectives. Her artistic journey has led her from the confines of the photograph to the liberating expanses of collage. In \u201cTHE WAY IN,\u201d Leishman delves into an in-between space claimed by collage, drawing from various mediums such as drawing, painting, photography, and printmaking. This exhibition is a testament to her belief that art is not just seen but felt, residing in the delicate balance between the seen and the unseen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Leishman’s work challenges the boundaries of the physical picture plane. Her desire to uncover the narratives hidden in the fractures and intersections of her materials has guided her away from pure photography towards a multidisciplinary approach. Leishman\u2019s art is a dialogue with form, where the subject serves as a portal to explore the layers beneath the surface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
