Steven M. Specht, Ph.D. is a Distinguished Professor of Psychology at Utica College in Utica, New York and a Signature Member of the National Collage Society. Originally trained as a psychobiologist, he recently re-focused his research on investigating the factors which influence how individuals perceive artwork. His collage work has won several awards and has been shown, since 2001, in group and solo shows in Australia and the U.S., including National Collage Society exhibitions. Specht has written several articles for Kolaj Magazine<\/em>: “Art, artifacts, & authenticity: The Problem of De-coupling Process from Product” appeared in Kolaj<\/em> 38<\/a>; “Chaos, Complexity, and Collage” appeared in Kolaj<\/em> 34<\/a>; \u201cAffinity for the Infinity\u201d appeared in\u00a0Kolaj<\/em>\u00a020<\/a>; \u201cCan I Use This?\u201d appeared in\u00a0Kolaj<\/em>\u00a015<\/a>; and \u201cJust the Right Elements\u201d appeared in\u00a0Kolaj<\/em>\u00a014<\/a>.
