Local and international artists are invited to propose collage-based artworks (digital, analog or moving image) for inclusion in the fifth edition of Todo Loco. The exhibition is produced and curated by 2020 World Collage Day poster artist Emma Anna<\/a> and Fernando Garc\u00eda V\u00e1squez.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you tune into the news anywhere these days you\u2019ll be bombarded with controversies and stories of war, destruction and economic instability. The world seems like a big mad mess. Sometimes it\u2019s a challenge not to feel hopeless and defeated by it all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Given the vibe of the times, it seems appropriate that the theme for Todo Loco V is PEACE PIECE. The curators are open to both literal and abstract interpretations of this theme.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Todo Loco (“All Crazy”) began life as the mutant spawn of artists Emma Anna and Fernando Garc\u00eda V\u00e1squez and was initially inspired by the idea of the world gone crazy, and the therapeutic aspects of collage practice. Together Emma and Fernando curated the first installment of a group exhibition exploring these themes in 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Four iterations of the Todo Loco concept have now been held on a bi-annual basis at La Casa Verde<\/a> in Colombia\u2019s Caribbean city of Barranquilla. Todo Loco III in 2020 coincided with the first wave of lockdowns bought about by the global pandemic and was held online. In 2022, Todo Loco IV travelled to Emma Anna\u2019s homeland of Australia where the exhibition was installed in a vacant shopfront in Melbourne. A digital catalogue of the 2022 exhibition featuring the work of 44 artists was produced
and is available to purchase via the Cut X Paste website<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
