Brown, curator of “Resurrection: Beckoning the Crone,” says, “I have often wondered what the world might be like with a more prevalent feminine or a balance of feminine and masculine consciousness. Would there still be war, violence, starving children, homelessness, and aggression, or might there be a different version of the world we live in? I have enormous faith in the power of art and the empowered, contemporary woman, but not in a political sense, as I have no confidence in politics. However, I believe that through education and spiritual growth, we can evolve to a consciousness embodying the feminine qualities of nurturance, compassion, humility, cooperation, and love.”

Anonymous by Nancy K. Any small, calm thing that one soul can do to help another soul, to assist some portion of this poor suffering world, will help immensely. It is not given to us to know which acts or by whom will cause the critical mass to tip toward an enduring good. What is needed for dramatic change is an accumulation of acts, adding, adding to, adding more, continuing. We know that it does not take everyone on Earth to bring justice and peace, but only a small, determined group who will not give up during the first, second, or hundredth gale.”

(text adapted from material provided by the gallery)

INFORMATION

Orange County Center for Contemporary Art
117 North Sycamore Street
Santa Ana, California 92701 USA
(714) 667-1517

Hours:
Thursday-Sunday, Noon-5PM
Monday-Wednesday by appointment only

MAP | WEBSITE | INSTAGRAM | FACEBOOK

COLLAGE ON VIEW Resurrection: Beckoning the Crone at Orange County Center For Contemporary Art, Santa Ana, California, USA6-27 June 2026 Leslie A.
