“Ruminations” celebrates the possibilities of paper through life-size paper-cast doors embellished with gold leaf, a translucent installation addressing endangered species, printed Chinese papers, custom paper drawings, large-scale pulp paintings, artist books, and other works that combine hand papermaking with print and mixed media.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At Reading Road Studio, artists investigate the material behavior of paper\u2014from fiber and water flow to translucency, pigment absorption, casting, and dimensional construction. \u201cRuminations\u201d presents paper not simply as a surface, but as an active part of each artist\u2019s process. The works demonstrate how contemporary material experimentation can remain connected to established traditions while creating new forms and narratives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
