Every March since 2006, Birmingham, England has hosted the Flatpack Film Festival<\/a>,\u00a0with its\u00a0“mixture of films, performances, contraptions and surprises”. They are “firm believers in creating a sense of occasion, exploring the fertile territory where film bumps up against other artforms, and showing people things they might not otherwise have seen.”<\/p>\n

Collage is front and centre at the 2015 Flatpack Festival.<\/p>\n

On exhibition 26-29 March is “The Collabradors Exhibition”<\/strong>.\u00a0The Collabradors<\/a> is a collaborative collage project run by Ed Wakefield (aka Felix de Helix). Beginning\u00a0in 2013, Ed has collaborated with 44 artists, nationally and internationally \u2013 from Austria to Israel.\u00a0Ed is constantly on the hunt for more collaborators, both analogue and digital.\u00a0This exhibition is a selection of collage works that have been made through The Collabradors project.<\/p>\n

On Saturday, 28 March, 7PM-2AM is Collage Party<\/strong> (tickets \u00a310\/\u00a38). Among the activities and presentations on offer are: an open-source collaboration with The Collabradors–fill a wall with collage during the night; a performance by Giant Axe Field, “Further Away From All Suns”, where bass, guitar and drums trigger fragments of the 1963 Czech sci-fi film Ikarie XB-1<\/em>, creating an unholy intergalactic experience; and Eclectic Method, the pioneer of audio-visual remix. There will also be collage films, street food and more.<\/p>\n
