A knight rides an old Bell &amp; Howell camera in her fantasia, <em>SOMIERS<\/em>, on the front cover. In <em>PRIMAVERA<\/em>, on the back cover, a boy swings from red licorice-coloured rope as he rides a collage of flowers with legs. Elizegi\u2019s collages are surreal, suggestive, and lovely.<\/p>\n<p><em>Kolaj<\/em> came to know Elizegi\u2019s work when she registered with the <em>Kolaj Magazine<\/em> Artist Directory. She is an analogue collage artist who works large and small. <img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-4007\" src=\"http:\/\/kolajmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/rebeka-elizegi-mina-300x419.jpg\" alt=\"rebeka-elizegi-mina\" width=\"400\" height=\"559\" srcset=\"https:\/\/kolajmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/rebeka-elizegi-mina-300x419.jpg 300w, https:\/\/kolajmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/rebeka-elizegi-mina-260x363.jpg 260w, https:\/\/kolajmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/rebeka-elizegi-mina-160x224.jpg 160w, https:\/\/kolajmagazine.com\/content\/wp-content\/uploads\/rebeka-elizegi-mina.jpg 501w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/>Some of her more interesting work is when she creates a silhouetted figure mounted on foam or wood. These collages float off the wall projecting a shadow.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI also work on the idea of generic diversity and sexual ambiguity, always with surrealistic and suggestive language, and allowing total freedom of interpretation to the observer,\u201d she writes. \u201cI am inspired by&#8230;anything that seeks to transgress what has been socially established as normal and correct.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Transgression in her work is subtle and often comes across in the sexual ambiguity of her figures or the surrealist dramas in which they are engaged. That Elizegi is able to engage in transgression while making collage that maintains an aesthetic beauty is the mark of a talented artist.
