In conjunction with the exhibition, “ABC: Assemblage, Book Art, and Collage”, the Braithwaite Fine Arts Gallery at Southern Utah University in Cedar City, Utah presents a two-day workshop with award-winning, New York-based collagist Jonathan Talbot, who also co-curated “ABC”.<\/p>\n

Exploring technique and creativity, the workshop examines\u00a0composition, collage without liquid adhesives, paperless transfer of printed and photocopies images, preserving found materials, creating a personal style and much more. This workshop by a leader in the collage field is ideal for art educators, artists, enthusiasts and students.<\/p>\n

The $300 fee includes\u00a0includes all tools and materials and a copy of Talbot\u2019s book Collage: A New Approach<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Jonathan Talbot has exhibited his work\u00a0at The National Academy and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. His work has represented\u00a0the United States overseas in exhibitions sponsored by the State Department and the Smithsonian Institution, and it is\u00a0included in museum collections in the United States and Europe. Talbot’s works include oils, watercolours, etchings, collages and multi-dimensional collage-constructions. Among the public collections holding Talbot works are The Newark Museum, The Smith College Museum, The Everhart Museum, The Byer Museum, The Free Library of Philadelphia, The San Francisco Academy of Art, Fairleigh Dickinson University, The Provincetown Historical Society and the Toronto Central Library. Talbot maintains his studio in Warwick, New York.<\/p>\n
