Collage is a newer pursuit (since summer 2013)—but one I’ve quickly come to enjoy. I paint with abandon on paper, cut the paintings up and glue them back together in new ways, or I paint on paper and use still-wet colours to print onto other sheets of paper that I then manipulate, or I make monoprints (pressing paper directly onto colours spread on glass) and these monoprints become the raw material for my collages. I enjoy seeing compositions emerge from the paper elements as I arrange and contemplate them. I hope you enjoy looking at my collages as much as I enjoy making them.

(adapted from the artist’s press materials)

INFORMATION

Mario Uribe’s Seishin Studio
Art Alley
318 South A Street
Santa Rosa, California 95401 USA
(707) 303-5925

Hours:
Call for hours

MAP | WEBSITE | FACEBOOK

Image:
Untitled Collage No. 154 (Santa Rosa)
by Colin Talcroft
9.1″x7.1″
acrylic on paper, acrylic monoprint, found paper (handwritten music), collage
2016

COLLAGE ON VIEW Colin Talcroft at Mario Uribe’s Seishin Studio in Santa Rosa, California, USA 2-19 February 2018 Colin Talcroft says about his work: I have made drawings, paintings, prints, and photographs since childhood.
