STATEMENT

For my collage and glitch artwork I primarily use Photoshop and processing, the programming language, but for my illustration and horror art I use charcoal pencils, micron pens, and brush pens. My art tends to explore the way in which one image can capture an entire narrative, and play with expectations in that way.

BIO

Trained in photography and design at New York School of the Arts and Tufts University, Allison Smith has spent the past 10 years as an art director and visual designer working mostly in advertising. Her personal work, however, tends to be more experimental and incorporates elements of digital collage and glitch art as well as experimental photography. Smith is a big fan of horror art and indie comic art as well, and is hoping to find a way to incorporate all of her various media into one surreal graphic novel.
