Bozena Wiszniewski
Bozena Wiszniewski STATEMENT Colour is the first thing that attracts my attention. It is the first thing I think about setting the composition of the painting. Painting for me is like a story written with colour…reinforced with the emotions contained in every movement of the brush or the way I tear the paper when I am working on collages. My favourite artist’s quotes are: “What I dream of is an art of balance, purity and serenity devoid from troubling or depressing subject matter… a soothing, calming influence on the mind, something like a good armchair which provides relaxation from physical fatigue.” – Henri Matisse “My paintings are titled after they are finished. I paint from remembered landscapes that I carry with me–and remembered feelings of them, which of course become transformed. I could certainly never mirror nature. I would more like to paint what it leaves with me.” – Joan Mitchell BIO My artistic journey began at the National School of Fine Arts and continued on to the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. I graduated with honours from the faculty of Interior Architecture in 1988. In 1990, love sent me migrating to Australia and starting a family. I have had opportunities to work on interior design projects and drafting over the years and now after so many years of study, work and a busy home life, I can finally say I have arrived at my dream destination. In March 2012, I opened my own art studio and took up painting. After a long break, during which I couldn’t pursue art, I believe that I am once again at the beginning of the road from which I deviated more than 10 years ago. Within two years, I had four solo exhibitions and several group shows. I live and work in Melbourne, Victoria. ARTIST CONTACT +61 407831830 IMAGES
