Eva Richardson STATEMENT The collages I make seek to reveal an understated beauty that I see in the modest, rustic, imperfect or even decayed. They are made out of found materials including old notebooks, packaging, envelopes and letters. I use materials that are weathered and that mark the passage of time and I work and rework my compositions by adding and subtracting, tearing away and gluing down. I am interested in the interaction of chance and control and hope to create a sense of movement and mystery about what is hidden and what is revealed. BIO Eva Richardson is a painter and collage artist whose work explores the juxtaposition between texture and structure.
