Guylaine Couture has made artist’s books and collage for several years. These artistic forms allow her to create works in which both contents and form merge so that the message is more powerful.
The artist is obsessed with the reuse of printed documents, by the preservation of the forgotten zone of a photo and by the recycling of material that has already lived. Her works attempt to demonstrate the potential of this plentiful material that is too easily discarded.
The collage exercises in her notebooks are a kind of push-up layout and composition. Often created quickly, these collages are part of the ritual of starting a creative session.
