STATEMENT

Laurie Rayner Langford is a thought-provoking Canadian assemblage artist based in Chatham, Ontario.

With a unique blend of subversive humor and mixed media, her installation challenge contemporary gender expectations and provoke meaningful debate. Through her shadow boxes, collages, and printmaking, Langford reinterprets themes of sexuality, domesticity, and history, often drawing
inspiration from iconic artists and writers.

Her work invites viewers to confront uncomfortable truths, transforming familiar narratives into a compelling commentary on “pop culture innocence gone horribly wrong” (Vanderwall, 2011).
