STATEMENT

My ideas centre around the deterioration of the biological body vs. a post-mortal humanity. I am currently working on an illustrated collection of short stories titled, The Art of Lying Perfectly Still.

BIO

Lydia Chiussi, a native of Montreal, Quebec, is now a Toronto-based sound and visual artist. Lydia’s general art practice evokes the tradition of automatic writing and stream of consciousness, letting intuition and her unconscious mind guide her work. Chiussi is currently working on updating her portfolio website, www.lanugopress.com, launched in 2014, which previously featured contemporary artworks from around the world. The site’s focus is now on showcasing her own art and sound projects. The artist’s newer collage work was recently included in the first issue of Guelph, Ontario’s first published art magazine, Fenylalanine, put out by David Knight’s XAGGERA Press in Guelph.
