Najeebah Al-Ghadban
Najeebah Al-Ghadban STATEMENT As a collage artist, Najeebah Al-Ghadban’s first foray into the medium began with “A White Asylum”, an ongoing series that is an exploration of the human psyche. Each collage paints a portrait, assembling the discordance of heart and the entrapment of mind, through the use of industrial tools, abstraction of image, and shadow-play. “A White Asylum” was recently featured in a solo show for CAP Kuwait with a 50-piece installation for a two-week period in October 2014. She is currently expanding her experimentation with the medium with further abstraction of paper, and an exploration with ink, a second series titled “Songes”. BIO Najeebah Al-Ghadban, born in Kuwait and currently residing in New York City, is a designer passionate about all things book-related, an image-maker caught between scissors and paper, and a writer often found reconciling with the absurdity of existence. Her creative curiosity is driven by the desire to communicate, whether through text, image, or design, the intangible. ARTIST CONTACT [click to email] IMAGES
