Monthly International Collaged Playing Card Exchange

HISTORY

LuEllen Joy Giera started making playing card collages in 2010 thanks to Liz Cohn. Giera created this group to gather collage artists from all over the world to exchange with each other on a monthly basis. They have been operating monthly for over 6 years.

MISSION

Their goal is to gather like-minded collage artists together, so they can share, support, and inspire.

JOIN

Anyone can email Giera to be included in the monthly call for art or join the Facebook group.

KEY ACTIVITIES

Every month Giera sends out an email call for participants. Lists of ten or less people are created and emailed out at the beginning of the month. Each person creates an original collage on a playing card for each other person on the list. They then mail it before the end of that month. Artists opt in or out any given month. There are 154 emails sent out and an average of 45-55 people participate each month.

Since the group began, Giera has organized six brick and mortar group shows with all the cards on display.
