COLLAGE ON VIEW Tiny TrapsThrough 26 February 2016 at Spazio & in Bologna, Italy. The title refers to the “semantic traps” in Pasquale de Sensi’s collages. The images function as traps because their compositional structure is ordered, which encourages the viewer’s search for meaning. However, any attempt at interpretation leads to multiple searches spread amongst the various symbols in the work and their relationships with each other. MORE |

COLLAGE ON VIEW This Must Be the PlaceThrough 29 February 2016 at Kafka’s Coffee & Tea in Vancouver, British Columbia. Sarah Judge adopted an eclectic collection of vintage print media in which each collage begins from its original print format, she then creates collages by blending and bending imagery digitally. She approaches collage like a puzzle and finds the most satisfaction in creating a seamless composition in which the number of images used is not easily determined. “This Must Be the Place” is about building the world that you want to see.
