A Walk in the Woods

STATEMENT

The collage work stems from a lifelong interest in “things made of smaller things” and evocative and intricate puzzle-like works. They are nest-like while also acknowledging the sense of mystery/infinity a window suggests. My process is focused, meditative and time-intensive. Assembling the many tiny abstractions made from prints of my oil paintings feels akin to seeking broader connections. The paper is archival and is applied to wood substrates. The works range in size from small to monumental.
