Perry Hoffman Gualala, California, USA
STATEMENT
Working in collage from an early age. Cutting and pasting since childhood…then came the computer age and Photoshop. Also, being a photographer since about age 5, I continue to use my own photos in my collage work. Photographing wildlife and many birds is a passion. Currently working with my own images and repurposing them to a bigger picture. I have worked in mosaic for the last 27 years and treat that like I treat my collage work, working with a spontaneous manner that allows the images and pieces speak to me. My work is a way of processing the crazy inside me and the crazy of the world, of which there is no limit. Ceramics is another vehicle for me, and so many different mediums intrigue me; however, collage is a staple.
