STATEMENT

In my work, I explore the ever-evolving cycles connected to self- and social-identity. My focus is on the female and lesbian experience, which I examine through a kaleidoscope of color and movement. By exposing in internal experience, I aim to create work that is abstract, rhythmic, and boldly feminine with an edge. I delight in bringing disparate elements together, puzzling them into harmonious compositions, and reveling in the surprises that emerge along the way. Each piece is a conversation between intention and discovery, between what is seen and what lies inside. Using analog collage, I layer color and images from magazines and recycled paper, allowing shapes to flow together in a dynamic rhythm. The use of recycled materials reflects my commitment to evolution—of materials, ideas, and identity. Through my work, I aim to spark a sense of curiosity, inviting the viewer to engage with the layers in each piece. I want the viewer to take away the idea that identity can be portrayed in ways that are unexpected and often overlooked. I invite them to pause, look closer, and consider something new.
