Balint Zsako is a Canadian collagist and painter whose work has been shown around the world: Canada, U.S.A., Australia, Hong Kong, Germany, Hungary, and Italy. His book, Balint Zsako: Drawings from the Bernardi Collection, was published by the Museum of Canadian Contemporary Art in 2008. Winner of two emerging artist grants, Zsako was named to the long list for the 2014 Sobey Art Awards. Zsako currently lives and works in New York.

In Issue 8, Ariane Fairlie wrote about Balint Zsako’s work in an artist portfolio:

Though Balint Zsako works in collage, his drawings, too, contain the essential elements of his (and any) collage work: juxtaposition and hybridity. Often when an artist confronts the natural world with mechanics they find incompatibility, or even look to exaggerate the degree to which they are at odds.
