Video Explores the Process of Cecil Touchon
Musicality of the Eye focuses on the principles of musicality behind Cecil Touchon’s artwork. The founder and director of the International Museum of Collage, Assemblage and Construction, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, Touchon is known internationally for his collage. The video shows images of Touchon at work and pans of his studio, with a voice over by the artist describing his process. “He collects the papers he uses in his works from second-hand shops, flea markets and antique stores, as well as street posters and road side billboard paper. Touchon has also been working on an art project using the concept of the museum as art genre, and has archived over twenty thousand works of art from artists all over the world over the last twenty years,” the video’s description explains. “Cecil Touchon’s art and ideas have been influential on countless other artists.”
