“Beyond: Athena Petra Tasiopoulos”

“Beyond” is an exhibition of mixed media works on paper by Vermont artist Athena Petra Tasiopoulos. Working primarily with vintage found photos, the collage artist gives new life to the photographed. “By reinventing the portrait,” Tasiopoulos says, “I aim to disjoint my subjects from an antiquated identity, allowing them to transcend the constraints of time and place.” These new entities are fragmented and living among repetitive geometries–delicate and compelling.
