The Thousand Faces of Poverty
at the Chiesa del Gesù in Bari, Italy
17-24 November 2023
In honor of the World Day of the Poor on 19 November 2023, the Italian Collagists Collective presents “The Thousand Faces of Poverty”, curated by Roberta Guarna, in partnership with the Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulcher of Jerusalem, Bari-Bitonto Delegation.
The exhibition features eighty original works made by twenty-six artists from Argentina, Belgium, Canada, Germany, India, Italy, Peru, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and North Carolina and Oregon in the United States.
Roberta Guarna wrote, “This in-depth artistic journey investigates the various faces of poverty. Is poverty only a matter of economic destitution? Poverty amidst pain, marginalization, abuse, violence, torture, imprisonment, war, deprivation of freedom and dignity, ignorance and illiteracy, health emergencies and unemployment, trafficking and slavery, exile and misery, lack of values.”
