The Weird Show

Fresh from Brooklyn, the International Weird Collage Show in Montreal is a collective exhibition featuring collage masterpieces from Rubén B, Dennis Busch, Paul Butler, James Gallagher, Alan Ganev, Ashkan Honarvar, JP King, Max-o-matic, and Charles Wilkin. The show is curated by Max-o-matic, Rubén B and Alan Ganev

The Weird Show has become the primary catalyst for today’s collage artists to re-invent, experiment and defy the historical limits of this influential medium, creating work that is new and perhaps even wrong. Created by Rubén B and Máximo Tuja (Max-o-matic), The Weird Show has united the global collage community through its International Collage Show exhibitions, printed matter and workshops while becoming an essential source of public enlightenment for the medium of collage.

Past exhibitions have been presented in Madrid (Spain), Rotterdam (Netherlands), Berlin (Germany), San José (Costa Rica), Quito (Ecuador), Lima (Peru), and Brooklyn, New York (USA). Montreal, the 9th stop on this never-ending world tour, continues the WEIRD tradition of providing collage artists everywhere an outlet to express their voice, offering a glimpse into the undefined and universal narratives that brings us together.

To bring the city the most prestigious scissors, Weird Show long time collaborator Alan Ganev joined curators Rubén B and Max-o-matic, creating together a selection of some of the most prestigious collage artists worldwide presenting mind bending, confrontational and delightful work that is always pushing forwards the limits of what we know as collage.
