STATEMENT

Collaging is spiritual and therapeutic for me. I learn about myself through the materials I find myself drawn to, how I relate to them, make connections between them, and how I handle, arrange, and manipulate them. I am intentionally present with myself while making, and listen closely to my own voice.

There are no mistakes in collage, to me, only manifestations of my inner workings. Commitment, control, ambiguity, impermanence, synchronicity, intuition, humor…all of these play into the physical process of creating a collage for me, which helps me to process my personal relationship with each. I can push and play with those relationships in each new piece, which I find freeing, enlightening, and joyful.
