Leah Swenson
Leah Swenson STATEMENT There are many types of landscapes: emotional, psychological, geographical, and physical. I create collage work from found paper along with my own imagery to construct these landscapes. I’m inspired by many contemporary and historic artists and movements, including the Mail Art Movement. I often use encaustic wax, one of the oldest art forms in the world, as a collage medium. BIO I am a visual artist living and working in Denver, Colorado, USA. I was born in Breckenridge, Minnesota in 1989. I received my BFA from Rocky Mountain College of Art & Design in 2013, and since have exhibited my work locally, nationally and internationally. I am currently a member of Pirate: Contemporary Art Oasis in Denver’s 40West Arts District and a member of The Postcard Collective. I’m an alumna of Artnauts, an art collective which addresses social and political themes across the globe. ARTIST CONTACT [click to email] IMAGES |
