ArtKraft Collage Studio

Budapest, Hungary

The studio was founded in 2018 by a trio of artists: Katalin Baracsi, interior designer and owner of artKraft Industrial Design & Interior Studio, Andrea Kovács aka Kurszán, collagist and journalist, and the German-Hungarian collagist, Susanna Lakner. They have organized workshops, collage meetings, and projects for the community. The location of the workshops is at artKraft, specialized in upcycling, refurbishment, and redecoration of old industrial furniture. The participants work with old magazines, posters, photos, ephemera, and wood pieces from the carpenter atelier of the company.

The goal of ArtKraft Collage Studio is to foster the popularity of collage in Hungary, to encourage and inspire even more people to try the creative process of collaging.

Interested artists are encouraged to follow the studio’s social media and join workshops and open projects.

In response to COVID-19, the studio is organizing online activities. After the pandemic, the group will return to organizing live meet-ups, workshops and exhibitions in planning.

World Collage Day
In 2020, the group sent collage kits to people and hosted a collage making workshop by Susanna Lakner. They plan to organize events to commemorate the holiday in the future.
