Collage Artists in British Columbia, Canada Honor Front-Line Workers

Collage artists Ginger Sedlarova and Valerie Arntzen have teamed up with artists David MacLean and Ali Ledgerwood on a project to acknowledge the contributions of front-line workers—nurses, doctors, grocery and café workers—during the COVID-19 pandemic. Sedlarova writes, “Front-line workers will soon be able to view work in a variety of spaces in our cluster of cities here we call the Lower Mainland, and if they see something they really like they’ll be able to send an email telling us which piece, and it’s given to them as a thank you for their hard work.” The group issued a call to artists in their area who are interested in donating art to the effort. They are organizing exhibitions in “window galleries, libraries, civic buildings and maybe even popups.” They are also sharing the concept as “an idea for others to start in their own community.” To learn more, send an EMAIL.
