In the 1987 romantic comedy, Mannequin, Kim Cattrall plays an ancient Egyptian muse trapped in the body of a department store mannequin in modern day Philadelphia. We thought a lot about this movie when viewing the collage of Katarina Pusica. A lot of collage trades on the reappropriation of images. Sometimes this is done for purely aesthetic reasons. Other times it is an intentional social critique. Pusica’s collages are about finding the hopes and dreams of others.
