Montreal-based artist Jean-François Poisson says, “I do scrapbooking for punks.” He likes “to cut and paste family photos bought on Ebay.” His work has appeared on book and magazine covers.

In pieces such as Hong Kong Roberval…, the paint seems to maintain the shape of the original image. It acts like a replacement piece of the puzzle, like the hair of the women, or neck and part-face of the man. It’s not invented for convenience; it serves as the link to create continuity between the collage and its support.
