National Collage Society’s 35th Annual Juried Exhibition

at Cummings Art Gallery, Mercyhurst University, Erie, Pennsylvania, USA
4 November-7 December 2019

Each year, a three-person jury selects collage and assemblage (collage in the third dimension) from artists throughout the USA and several other countries. The jury usually includes one painting/collage professor, a professional collage artist, and an art history professor. A museum curator then chooses awards for the Annual Juried Exhibit.

The jury met during the week of September 9th to select collages for the 35th Annual Juried Exhibit. There were 373 entries from 37 states and 2 countries and 54 pieces were accepted by the jury. You can view the selected pieces on NCS’s website HERE.

This years jury included Janet Maher, Professor Emeritus of Art from Loyola University, Baltimore, Maryland; Chuck Scalin, Professor emeritus and former assistant chair of the Communication Arts and Design Department at Virginia Commonwealth University, Richmond, Virginia; and Anderson Turner, Director School of Art Collection & Galleries, Kent State University, Manager of the NCS Signature Members Permanent Teaching Collection, Kent, Ohio.
