COLLAGE ON VIEW
Liz Scotta: Surrealistic Collages
at Arc Gallery & Studios, San Francisco, California, USA
9-11 October 2026
“Surrealistic Collages” brings together Liz Scotta’s surrealistic collages, exploring the human figure, architecture, landscape, and the unexpected relationships that emerge when disparate images meet. Combining found photographic imagery with an imaginative approach to composition, Scotta transforms nudes, interiors, and landscapes into dreamlike worlds where scale, place, and reality become fluid. The works include imaginary places and reimagined views inspired by San Francisco and India.

“I love taking an image that is completely ordinary and placing it somewhere it could never possibly belong,” says Scotta. “The fun begins when the viewer recognizes something familiar, but then realizes that the world around it doesn’t quite make sense.”
Created between 2020 and 2026, the collages reflect six years of experimentation and Scotta’s longstanding interests in art, fashion, architecture, and visual storytelling. Collage brings these interests together, opening familiar images to unexpected narratives.
