“The Sharp Eye,” the first exhibition of Diego Correa Art Space, brings together work by Benedict Douglas-Scott, Vim Vinwyn, John Huw Davies, and Michelle Owen. In choosing the title, Diego Correa sought a phrase that condensed his understanding of what good art should be while identifying a quality present in each artist’s work. The title emerged after the first two artists confirmed their participation, but Correa committed to it only after all four were confirmed. For Correa, a “sharp eye” describes an artist’s ability to see what others might not see, recognize, or identify, and to make that unseen element visible through art. This innate ability alone does not suffice; it must be accompanied by the development of skill. The exhibition considers how these qualities come together in the work of four artists, each with an individual process and visual language.

Diego Correa Art Space is committed to presenting artists who have a “sharp eye” and a defined language. For Correa, these qualities offer the promise of a successful and solid career, although they are no guarantee.
