Kolaj Magazine has announced the creation of an artist directory that will serve as a tool for organizing and cataloguing artists who work in the medium of collage. Its audience includes the general public as well as independent curators, art venues, and writers. The editorial staff of Kolaj Magazine will use the Artist Directory to select artists to feature in the publication and to select artists for various curatorial projects. The Artist Directory exists as a public resource for those interested in collage as a medium and is designed to put interested parties in direct contact with artists.

“By organizing and documenting the work of collage artists in this way, our writers will be better able to survey contemporary collage practice and curators will be able to develop exhibitions that draw on an international pool of artists,” said Ric Kadour, Director of Maison Kasini, the publisher of Kolaj Magazine.
Kolaj Magazine is a quarterly, printed magazine about contemporary collage. Each issue explores how collage is made, how collage is exhibited, and how collages are collected. Through critical reviews and essays, artist profiles, and event highlights, we provide quality exposure for contemporary collage art and promote collage as a fine art medium. Kolaj is published in Montreal, Quebec by Maison Kasini.
The publication issued a preview in November 2011 and its first issue in June 2012. Canadian Magazines said of Kolaj, “Full colour and minimalist design make this one a pleasure to flip through….There’s something delightful here: the artistic process famously dependent on cutting up old magazines and newspapers now has a magazine of its own.”
The first issue featured artists from Hartford, Connecticut; Chicago, Illinois; New York City; Madrid, Spain; & Johannesburg, South Africa as well as critical essays and exhibition and book reviews.
