John Paul Gardner: Finding Balance

at Cazenovia Artisans, Cazenovia, New York, USA
2-30 July 2026

John Paul Gardner’s newest series of mixed-media works are created from traditional media, as well as found vintage materials, including old textbooks, paper, and magazines. Gardner’s selected imagery is charts, maps, and astronomy diagrams. Through cutting, tearing, combining, painting, and drawing these elements, the resulting series explores his relationship to nature, both present and remembered.

John is an internationally exhibited, award-winning mixed-media artist whose work explores the interplay of nature and geometric abstraction. His notable solo exhibitions include “In Starlight” at the Peru State College Gallery in Peru, NE; “Vignettes” at the Umpqua Art Center in Roseburg, OR; and “Dissolve” at the Portland Building Installation Space in Portland, Oregon. Recent juried exhibitions include “Made in New York”; “Merged: d’Art’s” in Virginia; “Post It,” Coupee in Belgium; and “Works on Paper” at Project Gallery in Toronto. He holds an MFA from the University of Oregon and a BFA from SUNY Potsdam.

The artist was featured in an Artist Portfolio in Kolaj #43 (2026).
