Glue It Up!, a commentary

Kolaj Magazine contributor Edvard Derkert talks about urban postering and collage:

The collage has often been associated with the city, and Paris in particular! Here, Picasso, in the early 20th century, transformed collage into fine art! But wasn’t Paris already a collage in itself? A public arena for strange and often harsh juxtapositions, both socially, ideologically and aesthetically. With the Industrial Revolution the production of print and paper became cheap and all sorts of advertisements, posters and signs were glued up to the walls in abundance. And so it goes. The story of glue continues.
