This technique of interrupting the visual introduces an element of surrealism in the collage the way an old, wooden railroad tie breaks the visual pattern when set into a brick wall. New harmonies emerge from the disruption, which is a near perfect example of progress and modernity: the future manifest.

Self-taught collage artist David Gorriz was born in 1975 in Zaragoza, Spain, and now lives and works in London. He has a degree in Architectural Technology. His work has been shown in solo and group shows, including Collagistes Collective and Creative Debuts, in Spain and the United Kingdom.
